About Etape Caledonia

Etape Caledonia returns to the idyllic village of Pitlochry on Sunday 10 May 2026. This is the UK's original closed-road sportive, with just 5,000 places on offer each year. This exciting event attracts riders from all over the UK to take on one of the most breath-taking rides through the spectacular Scottish Highlands. You'll choose form three spectacular routes: 40 mile route: brings some challenges but without the steep climb of Schiehallion. The route starts in picturesque Pitlochry. Perfect for those looking for a taste of Etape Caledonia, or wanting a shorter option. 55 mile route: a challenging but achievable distance, perfect for both experienced cyclists and those looking to push their limits. 85 mile route: the longest distance consisting of rolling hills and forest-lined roads around Loch Rannoch and Loch Tummel, and a demanding twisting climb of Mt Schiehallion.
