Audience Insight Survey Free Prize Draw

By entering the Prize Draw, you are agreeing to these Prize Draw terms and conditions: 

  1. The Promoter of this Prize Draw is Cancer Research UK (CRUK).  Registered address: 2 Redman Place, London E20 1JQ.   

  2. The Prize Draw is being promoted via email and the following social media channels:  X (formerly known as Twitter) and LinkedIn.  X and/or LinkedIn is not in any way involved in this Prize Draw or the administration of it.  

 

Eligibility

  1. The Prize Draw is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, except employees of CRUK and its subsidiary companies, anyone else directly connected with the Prize Draw (including any advertising and promotional agencies engaged by CRUK), together with their immediate family members and/or personal partners. 

  2. CRUK reserves the right to request evidence of eligibility, including the identity and age of any entrant.  

 

How to enter 

  1. To enter the Prize Draw, you must submit your details using the online form at the end of the “Cancer Research UK Audience Insight Survey” available via this link.  On submission of your details using this online form, you will automatically be awarded one entry to the Prize Draw. Only one entry per person is permitted.  

  2. The Prize Draw will be promoted via email to individuals who as of 11 September 2023 have signed up to receive the following newsletters by email: 

CRUK Research Update newsletter 

CRUK Early Detection and Diagnosis (EDx) newsletter  

CRUK Clinical Research Nurse & Practitioner (CRNP) newsletter 

Cancer Research Horizons Promote an Academic Culture of Entrepreneurship (PACE) newsletter 

Experimental Cancer Medicine Centres (ECMC) newsletter 

International Alliance for Cancer Early Detection (ACED) newsletter. 

 

  1. The Prize Draw will also be promoted on the following CRUK social media pages: 

 

  1. The Prize Draw will include all entries made from 1.00pm on Monday 25 September 2023 until 8.59pm on Monday 16 October 2023 (“Entry Period”). Entries received after that time and date will not be included in the Prize Draw.  

  2. Entries must be made directly by the person entering the Prize Draw. Third party, bulk and/or automated applications shall not be accepted, and any entries made by a person found to be using multiple X and/or LinkedIn accounts to enter the Prize Draw will be ineligible. 

  3. CRUK does not accept responsibility for incorrect or incomplete personal details provided by a winner, or for any damage or loss resulting from entry into the Prize Draw. CRUK shall also not be liable for issues of any kind which may prevent, restrict or delay the sending or receipt of an entry, including (but not limited to) technical faults such as network, computer, hardware or software failures. Late, damaged, illegible or corrupt entries, or those not complying with these Terms and Conditions, the X Rules (www.help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/x-rules), the X Terms of Service (www.twitter.com/en/tos) and/or the LinkedIn Terms of Service (www.linkedin.com/legal/l/service-terms) will not be valid. Proof of posting or transmission is not proof of receipt by CRUK. 

  4. CRUK reserves the right to disqualify and remove entries which it determines in its absolute discretion to be racist, sexist, offensive, obscene, defamatory, abusive, insensitive, hateful, upsetting, illegal or otherwise inappropriate in any way including but not limited to those who CRUK believes are entering without having fulfilled the entry requirements set out in these terms and conditions.  

 

Prizes 

  1. There are 10 prizes in total, each consisting of a £20 Amazon.co.uk eGift voucher.  

  2. The provision of the prize does not imply endorsement by CRUK of Amazon.co.uk or any of their affiliates or any other third parties concerned in any way with the Prize Draw. Please direct any complaints or queries relating to the use of the prize to Amazon.co.uk.  

  3. Each winner is personally responsible for any personal or incidental expenses and any VAT, national and/or local tax liabilities incurred in claiming or using the prize. 

  4. The prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and non-negotiable. In the event of circumstances beyond CRUK’s control, CRUK reserves the right to substitute the prizes for similar prizes of equal or greater value or, at its sole discretion, the cash value of the prize. 

  5. By participating, entrants agree that the prizes are awarded on an “as is” basis and that CRUK makes no representations or gives no warranties of any nature in relation to the prizes. 

  6. Insofar as permitted by law, CRUK will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of using and/or taking up (or failing to use and/or take up) the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of CRUK or its employees. 

 

Winner selection 

  1. The winners of the Prize Draw will be the first 10 valid entries selected at random by a computer process from all entries received during the Entry Period. The draw will take place on 20 October 2023 (“Draw Date”). Reserve winners will also be selected in case the original winners cannot be contacted and/or do not provide the necessary information.  

  2. The winners will be notified by 27 October 2023 via email or telephone using the details provided by the winners.  Two attempts will be made to contact each winner.  If the winner does not respond within 5 days of the second email or telephone message, they will lose their right to the prize and CRUK reserves the right to award the prize to a reserve winner selected as set out above. 

  3. The decision of CRUK regarding any aspect of the Prize Draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. Furthermore, CRUK reserves the right to disqualify a winner if it reasonably believes there has been a breach of these Terms and Conditions or a winner’s conduct is contrary to these Terms and Conditions and in these circumstances CRUK also reserves the right to require the return of any prize awarded (if applicable) and select an alternative winner as set out above. 

 

General 

  1. CRUK reserves the right to: 

  1. cancel or suspend the Prize Draw; 

  1. cancel or refuse any individual’s entry; and/or 

  1. amend these Terms and Conditions (and will use reasonable endeavours to notify changes to entrants and potential entrants).  

 

  1. This Prize Draw is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with X and/or LinkedIn and the entrant agrees to release X and/or LinkedIn from any liability in relation to the Prize Draw or its administration. 

  2. Any personal data received from entrants will only be used and/or shared with third parties where necessary for the proper purposes of the Prize Draw and in accordance with CRUK’s Privacy Statement at www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-us/our-organisation/privacy-statement. 

  3. By entering the Prize Draw, each winner agrees: 

 

  1. that CRUK may request the winner’s express written consent to use their surname and county of residence to announce the winner of the Prize Draw as set out below, and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes; and  

  2. to participate in such promotional activity and material relating to the Prize Draw as CRUK may require. For the avoidance of doubt neither entry into the Prize Draw nor the likelihood of the entrant being the prize winner are conditional upon consent being given.  

 

  1. Where the winner has given their consent as set out above, the surname and county of the winners will be available for one month after the Draw Date to anyone who sends an email to ana.barros@cancer.org.uk. If an entrant objects to this information being made available, they should inform CRUK at the earliest opportunity. In such cases, CRUK will not make their details available to members of the public, but entrants should be aware that CRUK may still be required to share their details with the Advertising Standards Authority. 

  2. These Terms and Conditions shall be governed and construed in accordance with English law and entrants agree to irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in respect of any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.
