'Over recent years, my family and friends have been significantly impacted by the devasting effects of cancer. In 2017, my best friend was diagnosed with glioblastoma and realistically given months to live. At the end of 2020, we found out that my younger sister Kate had stage 4 lung cancer. After an incredible battle, we sadly lost my sister in May 2023. My best friend Dan, however, is still with us and, thanks to a life-saving clinical trial and ongoing treatment, continues to live a fulfilling life. I have been fundraising for Cancer Research for the last few years, and at the end of 2023 I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Business Beats Cancer Cymru’s inaugural fundraising dinner. It was an unbelievable evening, and I came away truly inspired. During the car drive home, I decided to set up a Business Beats Cancer board in Chester. So here we are today, and I am both excited and honoured to be part of this team. I want to make a difference and generate as much money as we can, whilst raising awareness across the region.
