1. What is the purpose of the workshop?
Our Stitch and Fix workshop is designed to teach participants basic sewing and mending techniques while embracing the joy of repairing your favourite clothes. You'll learn practical skills to help extend the life of your clothing and develop your creativity, in a small and friendly environment.
2. Who can participate in the workshop?
This basic sewing and mending workshop welcomes participants aged 18 and older. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some very basic sewing experience, we encourage everyone to join us.
3. What can I expect during the workshop?
The workshop runs from 2pm to 4pm and covers the basics of sewing and mending, with hands-on practice on clothes and a coffee break. You’ll also get to make a small handmade item to take home! With a maximum of 15 people, the session is relaxed and friendly, offering personal attention and one-on-one support to ensure everyone enjoys the experience.
4. What materials are provided?
We will provide all the necessary materials, including fabric, thread, needles, and scissors. Participants are also welcome to bring their own items to mend or sew if they wish.
5. Can I cancel my registration?
Your place on the workshop cannot be cancelled, exchanged or resold.
If you wish to transfer your ticket to someone else, please call us on 020 3469 6494 at least 48 hours in advance of the workshop and we might be able to accommodate this for you.
6. Where does my money go?
The workshop is led by our highly skilled volunteers who are passionate about sewing and mending, so all proceeds from the ticket sales will support our life-saving research, making your participation even more meaningful.
