About the Virtual Cancer Insight Panels
The Virtual Cancer Insight Panels shapes the work of Cancer Research UK to ensure it reflects the needs of people affected by cancer. You'll have the opportunity to share feedback on projects across the charity. There are two panels, each focusing on specific areas of our work; the Research & Strategy panel and the Policy & Communications panel. You don’t need any prior knowledge of Cancer Research UK or scientific expertise to join either panel.
Being a member has been easy and felt natural. The best part of being on the panel is bonding with other members who have been affected by cancer. Quite quickly it felt like meeting with friends and there’s a mutual understanding and respect for each other.

Meet a Cancer Insights Panel member
Faaria was diagnosed with indolent follicular lymphoma in 2010. Following her diagnosis, she underwent chemotherapy and a stem cell harvest. Throughout her treatment, Faaria chose to get involved with our work. Although she struggles with long-term side effects, the panel is virtual which means Faaria can still get involved and feel valued as a member of the team.
