More Research, Less Cancer

We stand on the brink of discoveries that will transform how we understand and overcome cancer and other diseases. But we need to go further, faster.

About our campaign

More Research, Less Cancer is the philanthropic campaign for Cancer Research UK. Launched in February 2024, we aim to raise £400m to help accelerate a new golden age of cancer research, changing the outlook for this generation and the next.

Since launching, we have raised more than £228m. But there’s still further to go to reach our target and enable research that will make transformative steps forward in how we prevent, diagnose, and treat cancer.

Our priorities

Our campaign focuses on raising funds for four key priorities, which support our vision to bring about a world where everybody can lead longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.

The Cancer Impact Club - a community of philanthropic business builders

The Cancer Impact Club will bring together up to 50 members to raise £5m, to help double the impact of Cancer Research Horizons’ Seed Fund. The Seed Fund, set up in June 2022, aims to close the funding gap between cutting-edge academic cancer research and a start-up becoming ready for commercial investment. The Fund has already made 26 investments in high-potential cancer ventures, with many more in the pipeline.

The club comprises entrepreneurs and leaders from private equity, venture capital, and associated companies, who understand the inherent risks and rewards of backing early ventures with the potential to change the lives of millions. Members commit to a donation of £100,000 over three years, with every £1 donated combined with £1 from the Seed Fund to be invested in high-potential cancer ventures.
