Research and clinical trials into hairy cell leukaemia

All cancer treatments have to be fully researched before they can be used for everyone. This is so we know that they are safe, they work and that they are better than the treatments already available.

Research is looking into the causes and treatment of hairy cell leukaemia (HCL). HCL is rare and so there are fewer trials in the UK, compared to some types of cancer.

Go to Cancer Research UK’s clinical trials database if you are looking for a trial for HCL in the UK. You need to talk to your specialist if there are any trials that you think you might be able to take part in.
